Well, we had a great day for gathering the family and having the traditional Thanksgiving meal. Lots of the turkey and ham available. The family requested that we bring our barbeque dishes and in the spirit of family harmony we brought smoked brisket and pulled pork.
To say that our contribution was a hit is an understatement. The “Q” was long gone before anyone got a chance for seconds (there was plenty of turkey left).
We modified our traditional smoked brisket recipe by making a sauce of beef broth, brisket cooking drippings, chopped onion, and a couple dashes of tabasco. After smoking the brisket we sliced it and poured the sauce over just enough to moisten the dish (although it didn’t need it).
It was a pretty good dish.
